– From my track sheets, looks like I wrote this in late 2006 and cut basic tracks in early 2007. It sat around awhile, and then one day I played what I had for Chad Rex,
One of my long-time co-conspirators, (maybe some of you have seen him—he played Oslo 2-3 years ago.), Chad took the song home, and added acoustic and electric guitars, celeste, and harmony vocals. We mixed in mid-2008 but it hasn’t been out up to now.
My lyrics can come from anywhere—someone or something I’ve seen or heard or read about. But musically, I mostly stick with pretty traditional forms I like—early rock and roll, early country, folk and blues. I’m not much interested in the latest thing. This song, I think I had in mind those 60’s girl-group and Phil Spector type songs.
