Howard Iceberg er tilbake, og denne måneden byr vi på en uutgitt låt fra hans studiosessions i mai i år. Låten heter “How We Fall Apart”, og er en herlig liten sak med et temmelig omfattende tema.
Vi lar som vanlig Howard selv presentere låten;
“How We Fall Apart”—Another one of those reflections on mortality, and how fast the time goes. Started recording this in 2007 with basic guitar trax by Gary Paredes and Royal Scanlon, who used to perform around here as a folk duo, Missouri Woodland. Longtime pal Chad Rex added a synth bass part two years later. And then two years after that Richard Gintowt from K.C. pop band Hidden Pictures added drums, and Chad came back and lead acoustic guitar and harmony vocals. Maybe time only seems to go fast for me cuz I go so slow on finishing these songs.
Lyric notes: 1. The “morning glory” is a flower that grows here, and opens when the sun comes up and closes when it goes down again. I don’t know if you have them there, or what you call them if you do. 2. “The Lord loves the lonely.”—-I hope this is true.———-Howard
Nå er vel stort sett min innsats i en hage begrenset til å la den vokse fritt, men jeg tok google i bruk, og fant ut at “Morning glory”, som han synger om er i slekten Ipmoea – som her i landet kalles “Vindel”. Den han snakker om, Ipomea nil, vil vel da bli hetende purpurvindel. Jeg er meget åpen for å bli arrestert på dette punktet, om jeg er helt ute å sykle…
